UNITING OUR COMMUNITY

  •  MTSD has been divided as a district for far too long and this is hurting our children. I will work together with the current board and the administration to unite us for the good of our children. Our focus as a community has to be on the future generation, and the quality of our schools and offerings. 

HIGH QUALITY TEACHERS

  •  Attracting the highest quality teachers for the highest quality education. Our children go to school to learn the skills and subjects they need to be successful and productive adults. A crucial part of this is a top quality education and that requires top quality teachers. Our teachers need to be appreciated for their hard work and supported. Allocations should reflect and attract the very best to MTSD.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

  •  Special Education is another important focus for the Mequon-Thiensville School District. Our district can and should be attracting the very best quality teachers, and there should be enough funds allocated to giving ALL children a high-quality education. I will be looking toward improving the current policies to make sure each student has the best opportunity. 

SAFETY OF OUR SCHOOLS

  •  Safety in the schools is a high priority for our district. I want the schools to be safe and secure for all students, teachers and parents. Together we can move the district forward by examining the current safety standards to enhance procedures and protocols, implement methods to improve the physical security programs and cyber-security threats on a continuous basis through the use of auditing, reviewing and assessments. 

TEACHER - STUDENT RETENTION

  • Retention of both students and teachers requires a balanced approach. Teacher turnover costs U.S. school districts $2.2 billion annually and impacts continuity of learning. Continuity in learning equals better student outcomes, and isn't that what we all want - The best outcomes for every child in the district?
